3 years agoEmail lists and discussion forums remain one of the easiest methods for a group of people to stay in touch and share, despite differences of location, schedule, computer access and skills. I’ve been creating, managing and moderating groups of assorted sizes and types for over 15 years. Although you can host your own for free with a variety of services, someone still has to setup and administer each one, and that can take more time and geeky fiddling than you care to devote to it. If you’d like to delegate some or all of that work to a real live, experienced human being, please ask me how I can help. I’ll work with you personally to figure out what you need, then get it up and running. Feel free to contact me via email or live chat (below).
3 years agoAre you about to forward an email to your friends or associates? Do you personally know, for a fact, that the information it contains is essentially accurate? Do you actually know where this message originated? Is it one of those emails that was clearly forwarded many times before, or professes great urgency about passing it on? Than, please, do us all a service — and protect your own credibility: verify that it’s true, before you do.
I’ve bookmarked several web sites that can help you to quickly search for some keywords (like the subject line) from the message you’re thinking about forwarding. It usually takes no more than a minute to uncover a hoax (one that you were about to perpetuate). If you can’t be bothered to confirm the information you spread, than it probably isn’t important enough to pass it on in the first place.
